Brown Bag: IPSV: Parallels, Intersections, and Overlaps of Relationship Violence and Sexual Assault

Join Josh Keene of CCASA in a discussion that will define, identify, and analyze sexual abuse inside the broader context of abusive/violent intimate partner relationships. Highlighting how sexual violence is incorporated into the multifaceted dynamics of power and control in various types of abusive relationships.

We will also address the impacts of IPSV on survivors, how this affects their healing and recovery, how IPSV relates to risk assessments and safety planning, and ways to address IPSV while providing services and advocacy. Cultural considerations for IPSV survivors from various populations will also be addressed throughout the presentation.
