With a time of 56:13 and a combined 20 legs, Violence Free Colorado’s Centipede Against Domestic Violence won the Longest Centipede Award at the Girls on the Run 5k in City Park (Denver) on Saturday, May 10!
The ‘Violence Free Colorado’ works with domestic violence shelters and advocacy programs across the state to help them serve survivors of domestic violence. ‘Girls on the Run’ is a physical activity-based positive youth development program designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical competencies to successfully navigate life experiences. Together we have young men and women with strong self-esteem who know about healthy, non-violent relationships!
