Brown Bag Webinar Series: Long Term Housing- Successes, Challenged, and Tips

November 14, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Stevi Gray, Violence Free Colorado Housing Program Manager will be joined by Lindsay Christopher with SPAN, Claudia Hurtado-Myers with Bright Future Foundation, and Leslie Sparks with Hilltop. They are all advocates working on the Housing for Crime Victims Special Project and together they will share lessons they have learned, some of the successes they have experienced, and challenges they have faced in providing long-term housing options. In addition, tips on how to utilize VOCA funds for long-term housing, will be shared.

The Housing for Crime Victims Special Project focuses on helping survivors increase access to, and retain safe, long-term housing and providing the necessary supports they need to rebuild their lives. The Housing Projects rely on survivor-driven mobile advocacy (meeting survivors where they are in the community or at home), housing assistance, supportive services, community engagement, and financial assistance.
