Bringing Meaning to Tragedy: A Colorado Family’s Story

October 20, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

In February of 2011, two Colorado families experienced the worst of tragedies stemming from years of domestic violence. In a murder-for-hire plot, Amara Wells and Bob Rafferty lost their lives.

Eventually, four arrests were made and four sentences were imposed. As seen on ABC’s 20/20, this presentation will cover the police investigation, the role of the judicial system, and what survival looks like in the midst of chaos. Come hear the powerful, and ultimately hopeful, story in an effort to further advance the policies and services surrounding domestic violence and victim’s rights. Please join us for a compelling evening, proving that it is possible to find meaning and purpose in the face of terrible tragedy.
