DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 10 year anniversary in honoring the memories of those lost to violence and acknowledge the impact of murder on families\, and communities\, and ways to support and serve survivors. The event will end with a procession for attendees to remember their loved ones. HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response will also have therapy dogs on-site for support. This event is free and open to the public. \nCo-Sponsors: The Front Range Chapter of Parents of Murdered Children\, Voices of Victims\, Denver Police Department Victim Assistance Unit\, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD)\, Rocky Mountain Victim Law Center\, Denver District Attorney’s Office\, Colorado Attorney General’s Office\, State of Colorado Division of Criminal Justice\, SafeHouse Denver\, HOPE Animal-Assisted Crisis Response\, and COVA. \nNote: Due to construction across the street from the Rose Andom Center\, please account for extra time to find parking. SUMMARY:COVA Human Trafficking 101 Webinar: What does Human Trafficking look like in Colorado?
DESCRIPTION:Human trafficking involves the exploitation of someone for the purposes of compelled labor or a commercial sex act by force\, fraud\, or coercion. Human trafficking victims are difficult to assist without targeted identification and referral efforts. Victims can be from anywhere in the world and this crime occurs in Colorado more often than you might expect. \nThis training will raise awareness about Human Trafficking\, offer insight to the types of human trafficking found in Colorado and the response to both labor and sex trafficking. Participants will learn how to identify various forms of exploitation\, and how to work with victims and survivors\, domestic and foreign nationals. \nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
