DESCRIPTION:Please join Philanthropy Field Trips for Family Volunteer Day on Saturday\, November 18th for a day of giving. This is a great way to start off the holidays while benefiting your community and having fun! We are partnering with History Colorado\, and all participants will receive FREE access to the museum\, which has amazing exhibits\, including El Movimiento: the Chicano Movement in Colorado. \nSome of the things we will be doing: \n\nCreating key chains for families going from shelters into new homes\nDecorating bags used to deliver meals to people with life-threatening illnesses\nCultural exchange – come learn some words from different parts of the world\nLetter writing to Congress to encourage them to be civil and work together\nPutting together Thanksgiving food boxes for families who need a little help\n\nAnd More: \n\nMaking dog and cat toys for homeless animals\nHanding out flowers to strangers and wishing them a good day\nOther surprise projects – come find out what they are\n\n\nNo matter how you define family\, you will not want to miss out on the fun! \nAll are welcome!

In this conversation\, listen to the empowering stories of survivors of domestic violence and how their truth shapes our culture today. \nPanelists \n\nNanette Chezum\, Domestic Abuse Survivor\, Advocate & Educator and Founder of The Courage Corner\nTracy Malone\, Domestic Abuse Survivor\nTracey Tatro Swindle\, Sexual Assault Nurse\n\nModerator \n\nSteve San Luis\, Outreach Coordinator\, Local Theater Company\n\nAs part of Local Theater Company’s commitment to engaging theatergoers—and new-to-theater audiences—in productions and conversations that spark camaraderie\, learning\, and contemplation\, Hard Talks has been developed by Artistic Director Pesha Rudnick and Outreach Coordinator Steve San Luis to talk\, openly and safely\, about issues of rape culture and sexual assault in our community. The talks are being presented simultaneously with our fall production of The Rape of the Sabine Women\, by Grace B. Matthias. \nAll of the events are offered free of charge thanks to support from the Boulder Arts Commission. RSVPs are strongly encouraged.
