SUMMARY:Pikes Peak Domestic Violence Summit
DESCRIPTION:The Domestic Violence Summit is a two-day training conference October 15-16th\, 2014. The aim of the conference is to highlight effective practices\, which have positively impacted the community of the Pikes Peak Region. Our philosophy is to provide opportunities for networking\, sharing of information and experiences that will empower individuals\, groups and organizations in the struggle against Domestic Violence. This is the 13th annual summit and over the past twelve years we have worked to reduce the incidence of domestic and family violence at all levels\, provide an open and frank forum for discussion\, and bring together men\, women and organizations united in the struggle against domestic and family violence.

SUMMARY:Love\, Sex\, Lies 2014
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Love\, Sex\, Lies: An Intimacy Checkup\, taking place October 15 & 16 from 10 am – 2 pm on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver. This event screens students\, faculty and staff on the Auraria campus for relationship abuse. \nWe invite domestic violence and sexual assault organizations from around the metro area to join us at this event. Organizations conduct outreach to over 1\,000 students\, distribute materials\, and educate students about their services. \nWe are also looking for volunteers who are skilled and informed domestic and sexual violence advocates to help us run this event. Volunteers provide 1:1 sessions with students after each participant completes a relationship survey. Volunteers spend no more than 10 (maybe 15) minutes with each participant to review their survey results\, talk about any concerning items\, and provide needed referrals. The event is not intended to provide therapy\, but is rather an opportunity for education and awareness. \nIf your organization is interested in participating in Love\, Sex\, Lies 2014 via outreach or volunteering\, please contact Caroline Fry at ca**********@******er.edu.
